The seminar was a part of the project named: "From education to economic growth. The dynamics of human capital in social and technological networks." The project was inspired by two, two-year-long previous research of educational processes, which included theoretical and methodological deliberations as well as empirical research of educational systems in Poland considering regulatory and institutional aspects.

The seminar welcomed some 30 participants including academics, researchers, students, media people and industry professionals representing a reach mix of disciplines and milieux including ICT, economics, arts, neuroscience, sociology and anthropology. The lively discussions that added unique flavour and flow of this event concentrated dilemmas and challenges that have emerged in the field of education as consequence of the ubiquity and increased role of networks nowadays.
The success of this event, in particular its uniqueness caused by open discussion modus, excellent speakers and participants, inspiring topic led the organisers to a conclusion that such a seminar should be organised on a regulatory basis.
